About our Services

Active 4 Health provides sports specific coaching together with health and fitness programmes for the whole community in Group-Based settings during school time or as after school activities.



Active for Health is a new Community Interest Company (CIC) formed in 2016. The social enterprise aims to bring fitness programmes to members of the community who would otherwise be reluctant to visit mainstream gyms for a variety of reasons, and to local Schools to raise overall fitness levels and sports participation.

Active 4 Health General Manager and Coach Michael McDonald recently completed a QQI Level 4 in Sports and Recreation at the Peace Link Clones. Here he is receiving his certificate from Heather Humphreys, Minister for Regional Development, Rural Affairs, Arts and the Gaeltacht.

2016-2017 Programmes

We bring professional coaches to schools during term time and after school clubs. Participants will learn basic soccer skills and improve multi-directional movement over 8-10 weeks duration, 1 session per week.

Children of all ages will benefit from tuition by qualified FAI Coaches while at the same time undertake a series of strength and conditioning exercises tailored to each class

Men and Women circuit training class

A number of exercise stations are used with group completing each exercise in turn before moving onto the next. Our circuits are designed to focus on students Agility, Balance and Co-ordination in a fun and engaging way. Typical class lasts 45 minutes.

Schools GAA classes in Term Time GAA Ball

The fundamentals of GAA are covered in a safe and secure setting, including Strengh, Speed and Aerobic Fitness (Cardio) exercises by trained Gaelic coaches. Games include 4-a-side for junior and senior infants moving up to 7-a-side for U10s.

Residential Care home residents exercising

From gentle mobility exercises to more robust and entertaining fitness programmes and games, each class session is tailored to the residents needs while being supervised and supported by our trained fitness coaches, freeing up the care staff on duty.

Pilates Class Northern Ireland Women and Men

Pilates is a series of exercises that will challenge all levels of participants. The order and flow of the exercises encourage flexibility, core and overall body strength, as well as postural re-alignment. Each Pilates session lasts 1 hour.
